Animal & Me Dates
Practice: Saturday, August 24 at 4 p.m.
Show: Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m
We are so excited to announce the 2019 “Animal & Me” program. Last year we had 12 people and 12 mentors from 4H participate in this program, which was double from 2017. Stacey Perry (4H Coordinator), Kaylee McCaskey (program developer), and Joan Miller (our Community Inclusion Specialist) would love to see this number grow again this year.
You will have a choice of lamb, rabbit, goat, chicken or a calf to show at the fair. If you have shown in the past, you may choose the same animal once again; or if you are an adventurous person, pick something else. It is good to pick at least a second choice in case there is a problem in finding a partnering 4H animal. If you are only comfortable handling a rabbit, please note that on the application. We would hate to pair you up with a calf as a second option.
This year we will be having two shows. We will be separating the small animal (chicken and rabbit) from the large animal (calf, goat, and lamb). The shows will follow one another for the convenience of those with family members in both groups.
On the information sheet, note the practice on Saturday, August 24 at 4 p.m. Please RSVP your number of guests to Joan because there will be food.
The big event will be held on Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Please work with your employer to be available for both these dates so that you meet with your 4H mentor and animal prior to the show.
Application Instructions: When you open the application, you will see you are able to complete the form.
1. Save it to your computer with the applicant’s name as I know there are several homes with more than one in the family who may have an interest in showing.
2. Then attach it in an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact Joan!
